Participants were asked to bring a piece of fabric or textile that symbolically had special meaning for the individual. These pieces of fabric were pasted onto canvas that became part of a collage. In this sense, each contributor had put themselves as part of the collage. From this effort emerged individual patterns and lines that came together. On canvas, the pieces connected to a river honoured the sense of identity and belonging of everyone — into the River of Connection.
