Sabine Kacha – 1966 – 2022
Sabine was such a dedicated advocate for human rights.
Sabine belonged to the WRN and even while not being able to attend in person she certainly contributed to the life and commitment of the organisation, especially when zoom meetings took place during the pandemic years.
She was not only very committed, she was also passionate about the rights of Aboriginal people in Australia especially in what concerned the Northern Territory Intervention, and the campaign for a Voice to Parliament enshrined in the Australian Constitution.
Her commitment is an inspiration to all who knew her; her death from cancer which she battled since 2017 makes for a great loss to her family and to those for whom she was so committed.
A memorial service took place at the Redfern Community Centre on 5th November and her husband was to her ashes to Germany for burial there.
