Singing Solid Rock on the Harbour Bridge to promote Voices for Reconciliation.

Solid Rock was an 1982 iconic hit song written by Shane Howard, lead singer of Goanna. Inspired by a 10-day camping trip to Uluru where Shane realised the many injustices faced by Indigenous Australians, he felt compelled to write a song that would raise awareness about land rights and the injustices facing First Nations peoples. It still holds true today.

This song is now the anthem for 2025 Reconciliation Week and also marks the 25th anniversary of the Walk for Reconciliation when 250,000 people marched across the Sydney Harbour Bridge in support of national reconciliation with an air of hope.

Reconciliation Australia is calling singers across the country to come together in song to contribute to National Reconciliation Week 2025, from Tuesday 27 May – Tuesday 3 June.
